The Purchasing Profile is a self administered, software based diagnostic
tool which we developed to support organisations wishing to assess their
purchasing processes in an efficient and effective manner.
Using a model
of purchasing excellence developed from some 20 years of management consulting
experience and academic research, the purchasing process has been broken
down into 20 elements. The model contains a series of positive and negative
indicators that produce a profile of the strengths and weaknesses of
the purchasing function for each of the 20 elements.
The replies from
respondents combine to produce a detailed profile of the strengths and
weaknesses of the purchasing processes within the organisation. These
results provide a clear picture of areas of best practice and areas where
improvements are needed.
